Four players represented the NI Pathway Squad at the Welsh Open at the end of September. Two were from The Judo Academy, Ewan Murray in the seniors and Conall McGivern in the Junior category.
Their first outing at a level 4 event was a fantastic experience and gave a benchmark on what they need to do to compete at that level. One win for Conall in a huge category, and a great showing from Ewan in his first senior event against the best in the UK and beyond.
No medals this time for the lads, but with a bit more focus, grit, and determination, the performances will continue to improve. The aim is to continue to rise up the GB ranking lists and represent NI on an international stage.
Best of luck to Aodhan and the rest of the NI Pathway squad getting their chance at the end of October at The Welsh Open for Cadets and Pre cadets!
