New crop of Judo Academy talent opens their account at the NI Schools Championships at the Foyle Arena at the weekend!
Four Judo Academy players, two of which have not competed before, represented their schools at the schools championship's.
Luca won 1 contest and was narrowly defeated in two others to secure a bronze medal for Ballymacrickett PS, Glenavy. Luca behaved impeccably, tried the techniques from practice, and stood up well in a category with taller and stringer boys, a great start.
Marcus, who had competed on just two previous occasions, won 2 out of 3 contests to secure a silver medal for St. Bernard's PS, Glengormley. A massive improvement for Marcus, very well done!
On his first time out, Finn won 3 out of 3 with superb 'ippon' throws to win a Gold medal for Wallace High School. An outstanding display made his parents and coaches very proud. More to come from Finn!
Imogen, the old girl of the team came back from a month off for exams to get back into the game. Imogen secured a bronze medal in a very strong category of teenage girls.
Imogen will improve, no doubt!
Well done all!
