Some great fights at the NW Open hosted at Long Tower Judo Club on Saturday.
2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 1 bronze medal accompanied great experience for some players beginning their competitive journey.
Player of the day was Ewan Murray achieving 2 Silver and 1 bronze medal, competing in 3 categories on the day, narrowly losing out on Gold to a controversial decision. Ewan also achieved the final points needed for the coveted Black belt.
Emma Carlisle achieved a Gold and Silver in hard fought categories. In only her second competitive event, Emma showed great composure to earn her medals.
Conall earned a Gold medal in his category with a great variety of 'stand up' judo. Some beautiful techniques and great preparation for his next event.
Aodhan earned a Silver medal and made great strides in learning how to compete in a highly charged Cadet category.
Manus and Odhran won 1 fight each and Dany gained some more experience at competition.
Many thanks to everyone at Long Tower Judo Club for arranging the event.
