25 wins by ippon for The Judo Academy team at the recent Dan grading in Coleraine University. The best return by far for the team!
Scott Tunstall and Adam O'Neill achieved 'Batsugun', winning 5 fights by ippon. Both gained their 1st Dan 'Shodan'. A great achievement for both fighters!
Quinn and Conall gained the remaining points to achieve 2nd Dan 'Nidan'. All the more significant considering Quinn is still 17, and Conall, 18 years old.
Johnny Close gained another 30 points to leave only 30 more points for his Dan grade. It certainly won't be too log now for the 'old timer'....
Ewan had two wins out of three, with another 20 points towards his 2nd Dan. On another day, a line up may have been achieved. Keep working Ewan!
Young gun Aodhan, at 15 years old, had one win and one loss, 10 points on the card.
A great experience against older opponents will stand him in good stead for the next round. All in all, a great day out.
